Staff at Pall-Ex Run a Sport Relief Mile PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 18 March 2008

ImageAround 20 staff assembled outside the centrally located transhipment Pall-Ex hub in Leicestershire on March 14th. All staff involved donned high vis vests and had pledged £2 each for Sport Relief to run one lap of the hub and lorry park.

The hub closed operations for half an hour to allow runners to take part, and other staff and visitors to watch, provide moral support, and most importantly donate to the cause. Several volunteered to act as marshals and first aid around the course, and also to ensure fair play!

In total Pall-Ex raised around £140 for Sport Relief, a national initiative backed by the BBC, which encourages people to run 1 mile and raise funds for charity. All donations collected for this are given to Comic Relief, to help vulnerable people living in the poorest areas of the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
