Employees at DHL Express are celebrating winning the Express Operator of the Year Award at the International Freighting Weekly (IFW) annual awards for the third year running. The prestigious awards are viewed as the Oscars of the distribution world and celebrate achievements across all sectors off the freight industry.
DHL Express has received this award in recognition of its excellent service quality, improvements made to its services over the past year as well as its customer focus. This award is particularly special for DHL as the Express Operator of the Year Award category is voted for solely by the industry. DHL Express was chosen for the award after a specially-nominated panel of 200 freight forwarders and shippers put the company ahead of its competitors with a comprehensive 35% of the reader vote. The Express Operator of the Year Award illustrates the continuing high-value that DHL places in customer service, its global network and proven ability to meet performance targets as well as new service initiatives. This year DHL launched a 'Next day USA' service from key business centres across the UK; an improved delivery service with more connections across Asia making DHL number one operator in the region; and a business-to-consumer delivery service offering flexible delivery times through a network of local couriers. Chris Muntwyler, CEO DHL Express UK and Ireland, said: "An IFW award is great recognition of our efforts to win three years in a row in a fiercely competitive market is endorsement of our consistently high service and capacity to adapt to market needs. We are dedicated to go the extra mile for our customers and thank them for their continued support and trust."
