The Communication Workers Union has accepted Royal Mail’s invitation to hold discussions with ACAS acting as facilitators in order to find a resolution to the dispute. CWU have made it clear we will not discuss Royal Mail’s previous offer as it has been overwhelmingly rejected by the workforce Deputy General Secretary (postal), Dave Ward says “The union remains committed to negotiations, I urge Royal Mail to begin fresh talks. If the business is unwilling to renegotiate and change their position, we will have no alternative but to continue with plans for national strike action”. The Union’s Postal Executive will meet on Thursday 21st June to reassess the position.
