Alison Wins National Award Alison Swift, who lives in Cannock, has received the Nightfreight ‘Salesperson of the Year Award’ for outstanding excellence, beating off strong opposition from salespeople from the company’s 52 other sites around the UK. Alison, who is Sales Manager at Nightfreight’s Depot in Cannock, joined the company in 1999. She was chosen for the top award for bringing in almost £1 million pounds worth of sales last year and playing a key role in winning contracts with Argos, Responsive Design and B & J Distribution. Commenting on her award, Alison said: “This award should really be a team award as without the help and support of everyone at the Cannock depot I would not have been able to achieve this level of sales.” Depot Wins National Award The Nightfreight depot based in Goole has just received the Nightfreight "Depot of the Year Award" for outstanding excellence, beating off strong national competition from the company’s 52 other sites around the UK. It was chosen for the top award after turning around business at the site and improving profitability by creating a strong customer base. The depot which employs a team of 39, now carries out more than 550 deliveries every day in a mostly rural area, stretching from Hull to Scarborough and going across the Yorkshire moors and down through York. In addition to these deliveries the Goole depot has significantly expanded its customer base for freight collection. Commenting on the award, Peter Ullathorne, General Manager at Goole, said: “This award is all about strong team work and good management. To help achieve and sustain this excellent performance all the staff here, backed up by a customer care team based at our nearby Leeds depot, have pulled together to make this depot successful, grow the business and ensure that our customers receive high levels of service.” Operations Director Appointed Nightfreight, has appointed an experienced professional to head up its operations nationwide. Colin Reynolds-Bryan joins as Operations Director with responsibility for overall operational service performance and customer care relationships. Colin joins from Citipost where he was in charge of Network Development reporting directly to the Board. Prior to that he held several senior operational roles within HAYES DX, including that of General Manager Operations U.K where he was responsible for total network operation of 2 million items per night. In his new role at Nightfreight Colin also has a remit to manage the track and trace rollout programme which Nightfreight started last year as part of an on-going multi-million pound investment programme in customer service and operational developments. Commenting on his new role Colin said: “When I applied for the job and met with the new management team I was immediately excited by the strategy for the business and was determined to play a major part in its future.”
