Sprinter is the Key for Doorstep Delivery PDF Print E-mail

Door-to-door delivery specialist Express Parcel Services is running a fleet of 23 new-generation Mercedes Sprinters.

Supplied by Liverpool dealer Road Range Commercials, most are high-roofed, Medium length 311CDIs, although the line-up also includes three Long-bodied units. All are fitted with Safe T Bar rear bumpers and steps, lifetime tracking systems and rear parking sensors and are fully ply-lined.

They have joined a Mercedes-dominated fleet of 80 vans, based at depots in Cannock, Leeds, Lanarkshire and Wrexham as well as the company’s head office in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

Established 35 years ago, EPS delivers around four million parcels per year, many of them for cosmetics giant Avon, which is the world’s largest direct seller.

“We deliver cosmetic products to households, but also distribute vending machine ingredients to sites ranging from supermarkets to company boardrooms,” says Operations Manager Alistair Taylor.

“So reliability is the key to what we do. The Sprinter is a quality product and gives us the dependability that we need, standing up well to a rigorous multi-drop regime.

“But back-up is an equally important factor. Road Range give us excellent service, quick response time to breakdowns and a reliable administration system that deals promptly with queries.”

He continues: “After a 15-year relationship, EPS is confident that Mercedes can still deliver the service we require and we look forward to the continued growth of our fleet.”
