The company which has been a member of Palletways, for the past three years, has invested around £300,000 in new vehicles consisting of four 7.5 tonne lorries with tail lifts and a new tractor unit. It is also awaiting delivery of six additional trailers, three of which will be aerodynamic double deck units with sloping fronts.
The investment comes as Just Vans has signed a contract worth around £5m with leading stationery supplier Consortium. Just Vans' dedicated vehicles will deliver goods into schools within a 75 mile radius of Frome, with nationwide deliveries outside this area undertaken by the Palletways network on a next day service, ensuring that all deliveries are made within school opening hours. The company has also pledged to distribute all goods into designated areas within the school and remove all pallets and wraps from school premises to ensure the safety of the children.
Andy Mead, founder of Just Vans, said: "We feel it's a real achievement to be celebrating our fifth anniversary. When we started it was just myself, my partner Tracey and a van, but we now employ 35 staff and have enjoyed 50% growth over the last 12 months. I'm extremely proud of the company's success, and our membership of Palletways has played a big part in that. It has allowed us to attract big customers such as Consortium and also gives us national as well as international reach, meaning we can offer our customers the best service possible."
