Dedicated staff at the Newton Abbot depot of national delivery network Nightfreight are celebrating having been voted 'best service provider' by one of its top customers.

It is the second time in a year that the 15-strong Devonshire team has won the award, which was only launched last year by global office supplier Office Depot.

Based at Dawlish Business Park, Nightfreight beat 15 other logistics companies to the title, which recognises outstanding service and commitment to customer care.;

To win the award, Nightfreight scored top marks for making and completing deliveries in the fastest time, best use of tracking technology and least number of complaints.

In a long standing partnership, Nightfreight's depot has worked with Office Depot for the past 15 years handling 450 daily deliveries to business customers throughout Devon and Cornwall.

Nationally, almost 4,000 daily deliveries for Office Depot are handled by Nightfreight from its depots in Newton Abbot, Willenhall, Castleford, Norwich and Llanelli.

For Nightfreight National Operations Logistics Manager Adrian Tomlinson, the award is testament to the firm's customer-focused service. He said: "We pride ourselves on delivering a first-class service to all our customers and combine personal service values with imaginative, technology-led solutions.

"It's a great pleasure to win this award and we look forward to continuing to develop this long and successful partnership with Office Depot."

Office Depot's regional transport manager (South), Richard Day explains that with the Newton Abbot depot, world-class service comes as standard. He said: "Competition among our service providers for this award is fierce. Our logistics partners carry out their deliveries in 'Office Depot' branded vehicles, so it's imperative that as brand ambassadors, the service they provide is second-to-none.

"The fact that the Nightfreight team retained the award is testament to their ability to consistently meet the excellent standard of service our customers expect from Office Depot."
