Employees at the Birmingham Depot of City Link are celebrating after winning two new contracts worth over £2.5 million.
City Link fended off competition from other tenders nationally to win a three-year contract with Coventry-based Ellisons Hair and Beauty. The express delivery company, based at Stadium Point, also secured a renewed three-year contract with Thomas Plant, also known as Kitchen Craft. Robin Nelson, General Manager of City Link’s Birmingham depot said he and his Colleagues were delighted with the contract wins. He said: “In both instances we were chosen because of our excellent service issues rather than cost. The market is getting more and more competitive these days so we have to ensure we continue to focus on delivering exceptional performance. We are delighted these two Customers recognised the value added service on which City Link prides itself and opted for that rather than lower cost options.” The Birmingham Depot employs 85 people and handles up to 12,000 parcels daily.
